Der Musiksammlung der Wiener Hofburg droht die Schliessung. Die kostbaren, ausgestellten Instrumente, die teils aus dem Besitz berühmter Musikerpersönlichkeiten  stammen und seit vielen Jahren gehütet werden, sollen weichen.  Es soll ein „Haus der Geschichte Östereichs“ in die Räume einziehen. Die Sammlung ist eine der bedeutendsten europäischen Sammlungen historischer Instrumente und stellt eine wichtige Dokumentation Östereichs Musikschaffens dar. Ohne die Wiener Beiträge zur Musik ist das klassische Musikleben nicht vorstellbar. Die klassische Musik ist einer der wesentlichsten Beiträge Östereichs zur Kulturgeschichte! Es wäre ein grosser Verlust für die gesamte Kulturlandschaft und ein unvorstellbarer Verlust für die klassische Musikwelt!

Die Petition ist inzwischen geschlossen. Sie hat nach nur 14 Tagen 6611 Unterstützer gefunden! Die Aktion hat die Sammlung in das Interesse der Öffentlichkeit gerückt und mit Sicherheit dazu beigetragen, dass die Sammlung in den Räumen bleiben kann!
